Disgruntled Commuter

A wheely big adventure

Ok, it's late and I've been out so this is just a short one. On the way to the station this morning: a car neatly balanced on four bricks, its four wheels having been removed, and with a tidy pile of bolts lying in the road beside it.

Nice, on the one hand, to see Hackney conforming to its stereotype - but I think that's the first time I've ever seen, in my life, a car up on blocks like that.

What's the going rate for a wheel, anyway? It must have taken a good twenty minutes at least to do that, not to mention balancing the car on the bricks while you're doing it. And why put a car up on bricks after you've stolen the wheels? Or is it just because that's what you see in all the illustrations of burnt out inner london life?

Nope. This one's a mystery. More tomorrow, when I will hopefully be sober.
