Resignation :)

I put in papers at work Had never really ‘resigned’ before – the very thought of placing the resignation letter in front of my managers and shocking them on a Monday morning seemed irresistible! And I did just that!

I was so excited and happy that I spent the previous night preparing a good resignation letter  (I hope my bosses aren’t reading this ). I was all smiles as I entered the office, but I couldn’t really gather the guts to finally send the mail. I must have gone through it many a times (though it was just about half a page), my cursor moved over to the ‘Send’ button many a times, but I just couldn’t click it!  Then, after a good two hours, holding my breath, I hit ‘Send’; and then I waited for my seniors to react. There was pin-drop silence for a while, and what happened next, well, is another story.

My only point is that I am happy to have put my papers down, and am looking forward to new beginnings. Of course I had good times there, but one has to move on! I remember, as freshers we had to accept any job that came our way… beggars can’t be choosers, they say. And today, with quite a few good offers in hand I felt like I was on top of the world! Having too many choices aint good… seriously!

My weekend activities of studies and attending interviews have paid off . The notice period starts today. And the reverse countdown has begun

Flight of Fancy

On a shimmering rainy night
Hope plays mischief with me.

Quietly it comes in gusts of disquiet,
Unfurling in my dreams
Playing unstruck chords
Weaving my heart in a song

I let hope linger on my tongue
It sells me dreams, I buy them
And savour in my thoughts
The wedded bliss of fear and desire

The piper's cadenced call I follow
And embark on a flight through desire's orbit
To the ends of fantasy
To the flaming doors of ecstasy
.
.
.
And many moments later
When darkness lifts,
It only brings music to my smile -
The mischief that hope plays with me.

Do not try to define me.

do not try to define me... for you'd be imprisoning me into a narrow realm of your perception of me, trying to make me more real. the more you search for me in the alleyways you are used to treading, the difficult it'd be for you to find me. no, don't try to define me.

do not tell me what i should be doing with my life... for my life is for me to experiment, to make mistakes. do not burden me with your experiences... i would prefer going the harder way.

do not try to understand me... with an approach tainted with your experiences. my joys, sorrows are my own, different from yours.

do not observe me, for all you'd do is judge. the more you do it, the more you'll be pushing yourself away from me. i exist in a realm beyond your definitions and expectations.

do not try to befriend me... for all you seek is conformance to your thought processes. don't even try to help me... all you'd be doing is satiating your own conscience.

do not invade in my territory. don't dictate, in a tongue unknown to me.

you say you know me? for you've observed me since long? have you tried listening to the notes of my heart? for if you did, you'd realize that none of what you think is me.

just let me be me... and you'd be surprised at how much you know me.

Solitude

One - a solitary number
I - a lonely me

Two - just more noise
We - an attempt at companionship

The world - a black hole
And some more noise

Consequence -
Years of solitude
