all this

It's been a while...

So here I am. Things have changed around here so it might take me a while to get to grips with the new software. This blog is about to resurrect itself. And for the record it will continue to be full of absolute nonsense. So if you're after informed debate... move along now.

Interesting to know who is still around these draughty halls. Any old 20sixers still here?

Sad day

I have forsaken XFM (who have culled all of their daytime DJs in favour of user generated playlist during the day) and moved over to BBC 6Music.  It always was a stupid idea.  People turn on the radio to hear other people, and to plug into something bigger than they are.

XFM is now no better than listening to my pod on shuffle.

Somebody killed something that was ocne great :-(

Ginger

From where I am sitting, in an office, I can see 5 people, three of whom have very bright ginger hair.  What are the chances of that?

:-)

Work experience

I got an email today from a young girl who is at my old sixth form college who wants work experience with a tv/radio company, i.e mine. I didn't quite know how to break it to her that right now that would involve sitting in my lounge on a laptop, collecting slugs from the garden and spending lunch with me and my friends (hey, everyone needs downtime!) so instead I asked for a CV to file.

I also saw some interesting stats today that showed that napping in the daytime is now PROVEN to improve life, i.e They found that 36% of males studied over 6 years had less chance of being dead at the end of the study period if they took a daily nap three times a week. How's that for evidence? I need to get a little airbed for the office.

And a small Roach rant:

The weather in the UK is very shoddy right now. In fact summer so far has been an appalling mixture of rain, thunder, hail (hailtorms in brixton last week...) and a small portion of sunshine. The comedy thunder claps which crash out every time we've had over 60 minutes of rainless weather are now starting to bore me and its about time it warmed up.

Metropolis Highs

Cycling to work, listening to music on my pod (through one ear, for safety unless a *really* good song somes on) and singing really loud safe in the knowledge that in a city this big I won't pass anyone I know.  That's what I'm loving right now.
