Catch up with my life...

Well since I last blog I've reached the big three-oh, oh how time flies. Amusingly to me I spent the last night of my 20's doing what I'd done alot during that 10 year slot. I'm sure your thinking, drinking, gaming, sleeping with the occassional bit of shagging.

Sadly I spent over 3 hours trying to find where I put my flat keys. Only to discuover the next day a message from my flat mate apologising for taking them. It didn't spoil the night too much, as I had a friend over for a few days.

The following moering I cooked us a massive fried breakfast for us both and another friend. Straight after the meal we had some Tequilla slammers and spent the rest of the day getting slowly sloshed. During this time we had some fun with Eye-create, which I will endevour to upload them to youtube and link them here.

So being the age I am have I become more mature, more undertsanding, and patient, less stressy, more worldly wise. Well have I fu(k.

I'm still the same moangy git I've always been, just a bit older. Still no grey hair but lots of wrinkles.

The other big news has been that one of my sisters finally tied the knot on Saturday being 10 years to the date that they first met. My sister roped me into a new suit and I was badgered into having my ears lowered (which doesn't look too bad but I miss my long hair).

They day it's self was wonderful and at the church my family attended as we grew up. It's also the same church that my nephew and neices were Christened in and my Grandmother had her funeral. My mother also remarried in this church.

I managed to not cry eventhough I was very close to it at a few points. I was given ushering and filming duties which I think I achieved. I had also been given the honour of doing the Brother of the Bride Speech.

Which after the wedding was the only thing on my mind. Thankfully I did it well and got the laughs I'd aimed for. I'm hoping my sister and my now brother in law were happy with it all. I found the whole thing to be very stressful and spent a large amount of time just wishing time away until I could actually drink.

As I'd abstained due to having to do public speaking.

So congrats to them both and may they live happily together for as long as possible.

Blog update

I've been busy update the Playing With Myself and Other People Too blog. www.20six.co.uk/sowhat

I'm aiming to fully update the site and fix a few of the issues with it. I'll try to add all the images that have been sadly lacking over the last months mainly due to not being able to access the site via a working PC. I'm aimaing to clean up the catergories so that I can start doing hardware / accessory reviews. First one will be "Mic check, 1, 2, 3, 4, a review of current methods of chatting via PS3.

I now have weekly access but I'm aiming to little bits at a time such as adding links to 1st plays and reviews for games that I own. This may require some cross linking between these two sites as I orginally starting a gaming section on this blog which is where the name came from.

Feel free to contribute or add and suggestions you think that would improve the site then let me know.

Installing a modem...

I've been having fun and frolics trying to install a Speedtouch modem for my mother who has just got broadband. A total pai in the bum on a Windows 2K machine. After 2 hours of failing to get it to work I decided to give in and call Karoo tech support. After 30 mins it's now working. Well sort off. I'm havingtrouble getting any web pages with Flash on them working. Including the Playstation site which i was hoping to download God of War: Chains of Olympus and Patapon demos. Sadly it won't let me even log in, eve after installing a new version of Java. Flash won't donload at all so I'm downloading a Windows services packs. See if this fixes the problems

Best things in life are free?

Bank Job (free preview screening)

A film based on a true story of MI5 setting up a bank job to get back pictures of MP's and A Princes engaging in private acts or a sexual nature.

The films main star is the Transporter himself (Jason Statham) but also features quite a mixed bag of British actors from soaps and films. My personal faves were Keely "Lara Croft's voice" Hawes, and John "Belgian Detective" Suche.

The story is a little slow to start with but soon gains momentum and actually works really Well. I'd not been aware of the events until this film and I'm still curious as to which Princes the pictures refer to.

By then end of the film I actually felt that this was a far truer representation of what James Bonds were actually doing at this time rather than driving cars under water and shooting lots of people.

The film does have a fair bit of violence in it but it's never too much and is there for the story.

A well exectued film with a good story and a real element of truth in it. Well worth the admision price especially if you were lucky enough to see it for nothing.

The day the earth shook ‘ull

At just before 1am this morning I was chatting with a few friends online when my cabinet at the back of my living room started to shake. My first thought was that my neighbours were banging on the wall because I was being too loud. Then the whole flat started to sway violently. I live in a first floor flat that has a sloping floor and my next thought was that I was about to have a night at my neighbours by falling through the floor. The shaking was enough to wake my flat mate who had been asleep on the sofa. It freaked me and my friend who was round right out.

I went back online to discover that ‘ull wasn’t the only place to feel it. My friends in Sheffield and York who I’d been chatting to asked if we’d just felt the earth move. The guy in York said his laminate flooring was making waves across his floor and guy in Sheffield said his who home had shaken.

I then got a call from a friend living on the outskirts of ‘ull asking if we’d just felt the tremor. It woke her and her fella up. They turned on local radio which was linked to the commercial radio network. We turned this on and discovered that it had been felt all over but very few knew what had happened. After checking News 24, google, local news sites nobody seemed to know what had happened.

After about 20mins of trying to find out someone emailed the radio show with info from a national geology site that stated that it was an earthquake and it had happened to the south of ‘ull. About 5 mins later a ticker on news 24 was echoing this information but stating it was actually in the vicinity of ‘ull.

I called my mother who had slept through it and got my answer machine message and thought I was having an early April fool.

I then got a call from a buddy in London who’s mother had asked him if he’d felt it he hadn’t but gave me a call to ask how I was doing.

I must say this is the first time I’ve experience an earth quake and one measuring from 4.7 - 5.2 depending on who you believe and with an epicentre at Market Rasen (about 50 miles south of ‘ull).

Supposedly it’s caused £10 million worth of damage and was felt all over the country.

What can I say...

Well about as much as I do normally which is too much with little sense in it ;-P

My flat mate and I have been living together for 1 year now and things still seem to be going well. And we're having a massive house warmed party to celebrate this fact, which will probably involve a large amount of alcohol and SingStar.

I'm still playing far too many computer games but enjoying very minute except those minutes in CoD4 where the game just kicks you our of matches or parties cos it feels like it.

Work is going througha fair amount of change but I';m still here so not much I can say on that matter.

I went for the fitting of my suit for my youngest sisters wedding in two months time and have realised just how slim / skinny I actually am. Which means I need to start eating more junk so I can put some weight back on.

I've been enjoying films again thanks to Lovefilom.com sending me 3 months free, which has meant I've been watching about 4-6 movies a week. Which is nice. As well as rewatching Buffy series 7, Angel series 4 and X-Files series 7.

My left hand seems to have healed but at times till feels achey, no major or continuous pain so woo.

I'm currently working on plans for a rather special 6th 25th birthday but I'm awaiting on the finner details being worked out. A soon as eventhings sorted I'm post more about it.

And they're off...

I'm currently testing the speed of delivery from 2 online retailers. Play and Amazon.

I ordered off play before xmas and stuff took ages to arrive eventhough people had told me they were great. I've never ordered off Amazon but have been told they are pretty quick.

So from Play I have a PSP game and a DVD; From Amazon I have a PS3 game.

Both orders were made on 31st December 2007 in the am.

Amazaon predicts it will be with me either 4th or 5th, Play is still showing as processing.

This may well decide where I do my online shopping from from now on so let battle commence.
